Instagram analytics that explains your numbers
With BestContent's Instagram analytics, you see reach, engagement, audience and the best times for your profile on a single screen. Compare with competitors, get the AI's reading and send the report to whoever needs it. Just pick the period.

Instagram metrics explained, no jargon
Every number on the dashboard comes with a short, plain-language explanation. You choose the period (7, 30 or 90 days, or custom dates up to 90 days) and see how much each metric changed compared with the previous period.
Reach and impressions
Reach is how many different people saw your content: each person counts once, even if they see the post three times. Impressions are how many times it showed up on screen, repeats included. That's why they're usually higher than reach.
Engagement rate
Likes, comments, saves and shares divided by reach. It shows whether the people who see your posts also interact.
Profile visits and link clicks
How many people opened your profile and how many tapped your website link.
Reels and stories
For Reels, the retention curve shows how long people watch before leaving. For stories, you see average reach, replies, followers gained and what people did: moved forward, went back or exited.
Audience
Age, gender, cities and countries of the people who follow you. Knowing your audience is in another city changes the timing, the language and even the offer.

rate

Followers
How many people follow the profile today, and how many you gained and lost each day.
Posts
Each post shows reach, likes, comments, shares, saves and its own engagement rate. Sort by highest reach or highest engagement and find out what worked. A chart compares views across posts, Reels and stories in the period, so you see which format performs best.
Facebook and both networks together
With your Facebook Page connected, you also see new followers, reach, impressions, video views, rating and response rate. The combined view brings Instagram and Facebook together: total followers, reach and engagement for each network, and the top posts from both.
Instagram profile analysis: who sees it, when, and what brings followers
A good profile analysis answers three questions: who your audience is, when they're around and which posts make someone start following you. Analytics answers all three in one place.
Best times to post, calculated with your audience
The grid crosses days of the week with three-hour slots, in Brasília time. Stronger colors show where the best times are. It has two readings: the engagement of your latest posts and, when Instagram provides it, the time your followers are usually online.
You compared with the average
The growth and engagement charts include a dashed line with the average of accounts that use BestContent. You can tell whether your month was good for you or genuinely good.

The AI reads the numbers and suggests the next step
Charts are great if you have time to interpret them. For the other days, the AI sums up the period in three parts:
- Persona: who the audience interacting with you is.
- Performance: what went up, what went down and why, in plain language.
- Content suggestions: post ideas based on what has already worked on your profile.
In the combined view, the AI compares Instagram and Facebook and tells you where each type of content performs best. The decision is still yours: the AI points the way, you choose what to publish.
Instagram competitor analysis, side by side
Just type the competitor's @. Analytics fetches the profile's public data and puts you and them in the same table:
- followers and audience growth over time;
- average engagement, likes and comments per post;
- how many posts per week they publish and when the last one was;
- the format they use most (image, carousel, Reel or video) and their most engaging post.
Then the AI reads the comparison and sorts what it found into strengths, gaps and opportunities. You find out where you're ahead of the market and where there's room to grow.
Meta only releases this data for professional profiles (business or creator). To use the comparison, connect the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram.

Instagram Insights or BestContent Analytics: what changes

Frequently asked questions about Instagram analytics
How do I see my Instagram metrics?
In the app, metrics live in the professional dashboard, available to professional accounts: tap “Professional dashboard” on your profile and open insights. To see everything on a bigger screen, with an explanation of each number, competitor comparison and reports, connect your profile to BestContent Analytics and pick the period: 7, 30, 90 days or custom dates.
How do I turn on Instagram insights?
Insights only show up on professional accounts. In the Instagram app, open “Settings and privacy”, go to the account type and tools option (the name varies a little with the app version) and choose “Switch to professional account”. You can pick a business or creator account. The switch is quick and unlocks insights from then on; data from before the switch doesn’t appear.
What's the difference between reach and impressions?
Reach is the number of different people who saw your content: each person counts once. Impressions add up every time the content appeared, including when the same person sees it again. That’s why impressions are usually higher. In the Instagram app this count is now called “views”; in BestContent Analytics it shows as impressions.
What's a good engagement rate on Instagram?
There's no official number from Instagram. To calculate it, add likes, comments, saves and shares, divide by reach and multiply by 100. Analytics uses this reference: above 3% is good and above 6% is great. More useful than chasing a fixed number is comparing with your previous period and with the average of similar accounts.
Where do I see the best time to post on Instagram?
In BestContent Analytics, the best times grid crosses days of the week with three-hour slots, in Brasília time. It uses the engagement of your latest posts and, when Instagram provides the data, the time your followers are online. The result applies to your audience, not to a generic average.
What do I need to connect to use Analytics?
A professional Instagram account (business or creator). You can connect directly through Instagram, without a Facebook Page. To see Facebook metrics, the combined view of both networks and competitor analysis, also connect the Facebook Page linked to that Instagram. When connecting, allow access to insights.
Can I analyze competitors' profiles?
Yes. Type the @ of a public professional profile and see, next to yours, followers, audience growth, average engagement, likes and comments per post, posting frequency, most used format and the most engaging post. The AI points out strengths, gaps and opportunities. For this, your Facebook Page needs to be connected.
Do the numbers update in real time?
Almost. Meta releases each data point at its own pace: likes and comments show up within minutes; post reach and impressions settle within 1 to 4 hours, and Reels can keep growing for days; account metrics, such as profile visits and audience, settle once a day and can take up to 48 hours. You can refresh each post manually.
